In 1957, leading scientists and academics (or “thinkers”) are invited to a conference in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, by philanthropist Cyrus Eaton, in an effort to facilitate a global discussion about peace. Two local children, Conni and Jamie, take an interest in the visitors, but then Jamie puts the conference at risk when he is conned by a spy disguised as a reporter.
